This 40-year-old woman was frustrated with the appearance of the dark circles under her eyes. Tired of her eye looking slightly sunken and making her look exhausted, she decided to explore non-surgical treatments for dark circles. She began looking for a Los Angeles plastic surgeon and chose to contact Marina Plastic Surgery Associates to learn more about her options.

During her consultation, she expressed her concerns to her surgeon while he listened. Since she wasn’t interested in surgery, he suggested that she try Restylane®, a dermal filler that works to plump the skin and make it look more youthful. The key ingredient in Restylane is hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring chemical in the human body, which reacts with the water in your skin to add volume. Using a 1.0 cc syringe of Restylane, her surgeon injected the gel-like material into the skin underneath her eyes.

Four months after treatment, (when these “after” photos were taken) her dark circles are diminished greatly. Best seen from the side, the skin below her eyes is no longer as sunken, showing the increase in volume with the filler. She was very pleased with her Los Angeles Restylane treatment.
