- Nipple - Areola Correction
Details for Case #6143
Breast surgery had caused scarring of the areolas for this 43-year-old female. Her scars were dark and raised, and she was especially concerned with the vertical scar on her left nipple. She began looking online for solutions and was impressed with the before-and-after photos on Marina Plastic Surgery Associates’ website. She called to set up a consultation with one of Marina’s Los Angeles plastic surgeons.
During her consultation, she explained that she was unhappy with the appearance of her areolas. She did not want to undergo another surgical procedure for scar revision, so she was happy to hear that her scars could be reduced with a procedure called micropigmentation in Los Angeles. Micropigmentation, or permanent makeup, is often used to camouflage scars. The procedure takes very little time, and the results are long-lasting. After looking through several shades of pigment, she found the perfect color and decided to schedule a treatment.
She was able to choose between topical anesthetic and local anesthesia for the procedure. Her skin care technician then used a micropigmentation needle to carefully color in the scarred areas. Within an hour, the session was over. Her scarring is now visibly reduced, and her areolas appear more even and natural. She is very happy that she had the procedure.
